Background & History

Company History

Fred & Brett Johnson jointly own and manage the business of Quartile Property Network which is based in Sydney, Australia.

Quartile Property Network is a specialist property investment organisation with over 55 years experience in monitoring residential property markets, advising thousands of private investor clients and managing residential property for investors throughout Australia.

The business commenced in 1953 as the D.F Johnson Group of companies founded by Fred Johnson and his late brother, Don. Brett Johnson joined the family business in 1982.

Over subsequent years the business developed a large property management base, at one time actively managing over 4,500 properties throughout Sydney - at the time the largest portfolio of managed property ever assembled in Australia.

The D.F. Johnson Group of companies, which included businesses involved in property management, funds management and property maintenance, were sold to Mercantile Mutual Insurance (now ING) in February 1990, whereupon Brett Johnson was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the merged businesses.

In July 1992 Fred & Brett Johnson formed Quartile Property Network as a specialist property investment and management practice, a business based on many years of practical experience in managing and marketing a large portfolio of property spread over a diverse geographical area.

The primary business of Quartile Property Network is in consulting with and assisting individual private investors to maximize their property investments whether entering the market for the first time or continuing to build and manage a property portfolio.
